Lake Tahoe and Surrounding Areas
Imagine an alpine paradise where snow-capped mountains surround a dazzling, clear blue lake. Sound unreal? Thankfully this picture perfect destination is real, and has plenty of exciting activities to offer. Just a few hours East of San Francisco, you'll find beautiful Lake Tahoe which is protected by the picturesque Sierra Nevada Mountain Range.
Lake Tahoe is situated at the border of California and Nevada, with the state-line creating a divide through the lake. Although the mountains may be daunting, this area has a steady population with several bordering cities. Situated at the southernmost part of the lake is the most populous city, South Lake Tahoe, California. This city borders Stateline, Nevada, which offers visitors plenty of casinos, luxe hotels, and nightlife. Further north on the Nevada side of the lake you'll discover the charming town Incline Village which is known for it's breath-taking 360 views of Lake Tahoe. The Western side of the lake contains world-class ski resorts, and the isolated wilderness area Emerald Bay (we guarantee you've seen a commercial with Emerald Bay in the background).
With close proximity to Reno, Carson City, and Sacramento, Lake Tahoe is easily accessible from all directions most of the year. The winter and spring months often receive more than 20 feet of snowfall making Lake Tahoe a popular destination for skiing, snowboarding, snow-shoeing, and more. The summer months are equally as beautiful, and attract adventurers who enjoy swimming, climbing, and hiking.
